• Meet the Tango K9 Unit: A 100% dog anti-poaching unit. Witness a demonstration of their remarkable skills in detecting and apprehending poachers, and even contribute to their vital work by purchasing essential equipment like harnesses and jackets.
• Support Down2theWire: Meet the siblings behind the renowned Down2theWire workshop. Witness firsthand how they transform confiscated snares, once used for poaching, into beautiful handcrafted jewelry. An introduction about the work of the ILR and the vital role citizen science plays in leopard conservation. You will learn about leopard behaviour, threats they face, and how your participation directly benefits these magnificent cats.
ID Kits & Leopard Recognition: You have access to a booklet and receive a digital copy featuring commonly sighted leopards on your reserve. You will be able to identify these leopards during game drives, making your sightings even more meaningful.
Become a Citizen Scientist: Marine will show you how to upload your leopard sightings directly to our research database, ensuring your contribution is included in critical conservation efforts.
Hands-on Camera Trapping: You will learn to set a camera trap strategically based on your interests. You want to see an aardvark? We will target its active den. You are curious about night-time visitors? We will set the camera at a watering hole. On your final drive, you will retrieve the camera and excitedly review your captures.
African Carnivore Wildbook Demo: Marine will showcase this AI-powered platform used for individual leopard identification. You will upload your leopard images and see first-hand how your contribution aids research through this cutting-edge technology.
